Leadership
Joel Hart has been serving as pastor of Columbus RPC since April 2021, coming here after serving as an associate pastor at RP church in Indianapolis.
A business graduate of Purdue University, Joel worked at Eli Lilly before attending and graduating from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Joel is married to Orlena, and they have six children. Joel enjoys time with family, basketball, running, reading, and trying to beat Orlena at board games. Joel’s greatest desire in ministry is to proclaim Christ and see Christ transform the lives of individuals, families, and the community.
Around Columbus, you may find Joel studying or praying at a local park or at a local coffee shop. “Open Office Hours” are Thursdays at 8 AM at the downtown Lucabe – feel free to get a cup of coffee and stop by to talk. Joel writes weekly reflections on the sermon texts he preaches through and other topics that can be found here.
Elders
We believe the Bible presents the shepherding and rule of the church as an effort by a team of elders, which includes the pastor as a peer among the elders. We are thankful for the elders God has provided us. We also are thankful for three deacons (Roger Grayson, Mike Mellinger, and Shane Shoop) who serve the church in mercy and other ways of caring for people and the resources God has given us.
